I tried out fluted PVC as a material for our tree sculpture because it's light weight, easy to get and durable. I found it extremely hard to work with and had to give up after by craft knife wasn't working too well and my scissor snapped.
I think this material is not really what we are looking for because it has the wrong look. From the start our group's style has been all about recyclability and the plastic doesn't represent that as well as cardboard of MDF would.
I think we can find a nice, lightweight but durable cardboard to use. We will just have to keep looking.
