Drawings of ideas for Laser cutting

Before we could laser cut we had to come up with some designs. I sketched several different things including nature, abstract shapes, musical notes, shapes only for joining and human hands.

When testing out all the shapes we found that the joining pieces, the shapes with lots of detail around the edges and ones with thin loopy/curly parts (e.g. the cat's tail) worked particularly well because they can be used to really make the tree grow outwards + upwards and then hang other parts off them. 

There were also favourites in respect to the look and randomness of the shapes. The train, reindeer antlers, the cat and hands were all a great hit.
